Kids Paying It Forward Project
Our third graders have demonstrated SOARing behavior throughout the first semester of third grade. They are constantly reminded that SOAR is our school-wide acronym for Safety, Organization, Achievement, and Respect. Our students will now have the opportunity to share their exceptional behavior and helping hands with their friends, family, and neighbors.
“Kids Paying It Forward” is our class community project for the 2008-2009 school year. They will be given three “Kids Paying It Forward” cards. They will complete a good deed for a friend, family member, and neighbor. After completing the good deed, they will give them one “Kids Paying It Forward” card. The student will encourage the friend, family member, or neighbor to complete a good deed for someone else and keep passing the card.
Students may access our class “Kids Paying It Forward” website under school supervision or with a parent’s guidance on home or library computers. There will be a comment page where students can tell about their “Paying It Forward” experience. Friends, family, and neighbors are also encouraged to access the website and write about the experience.
The purpose of this class community project is to give our students life-learning experience showing how far good deeds can travel. With our class website, tracking of their good deeds will be possible. We hope to see our good deeds travel across counties, states, and countries. The possibilities are endless!

On Sat 31, Jan 09 Miracle-Faye made me so proud of her. We were in Walmart and she saw some sun glasses. She bought her sister and herself a pair, and never asked her sister for any money back.

This is an amazing project! It was very kind of Renardo to walk his little sister to class and give her a hug. What a great example!

Mrs.W I’m having an awesome time with this project! Friday afternoon I saw an elderly lady taking out trash but she was struggling so I took it out for her.

Jared came to visit us while we were working on his great-grandmother’s home. The work was overwhelming, but Jared jumped in and helped with anything he could. He washed blinds, chased items around the yard that the wind had blown away, ran any errands he was asked, and brought fun and cheer to a dreary job!! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Jared!!! We love you. Uncle Randy and Aunt Barbara We’ll keep your card going!
